Who am I and what do I do?

My name is Karolína Michalíková.

I have been helping people in difficult situations since summer 2013 and I've always loved doing this. I like to learn new things and I always considered mental health as something that is connected to personal growth. Therefore, I am now enhancing my practice by studying psychotherapy.

My approach comes from a place of understanding

I myself have been through a few rough patches in my life. I experienced a few traumatic events in the past and found professional help very important and useful. I believe my own personal experience provided me with a deeper level of understanding and compassion toward other people's struggles.

In my practice, I like to combine my own experience with the tools that are useful for each client. We choose these tools together and look for ways to incorporate them in your life in a useful and practical way.

Developing your innate strength and personal resources to empower positive change

It is my passion to help people find their own solutions, improve the quality of their lives and find harmony. I believe every person has the ability to find their way to inner peace. Therefore, I focus on empowering personal resources and abilities of my clients which can help them overcome their problems.

What do I do?

In my work I combine systemic narrative approach with SFBT (solution focused brief therapy) and years of experience with work with clients on improving their life situation.

Safe space of trust and respect

What do I offer? I listen, I ask questions and offer different point of view, and my strength is the art of creating a space full of respect and trust where you don't have to be afraid to confide your troubles, talk about yourself, and maybe even find a new perspective on things. What is important to me is a partnership approach to the client, in which we are in the same boat together. I am not an expert on your life, but on leading a helpful conversation.
